Categories:  Individual Mandates, Massachusetts

Looking back on the last year of RomneyCare in Massachusetts, the Wall Street Journal said in an editorial this morning:

Well, the returns are rolling in, and the critics look prescient. First, the plan isn't "universal" at all ...

One lesson here is that while pledging "universal" coverage is easy, the harder problem is paying for it. ...

Mr. Romney's fundamental mistake was focusing on making health insurance "universal" without first reforming the private insurance market.

With massive cost overruns, no wonder it's now being called the next "Big Dig."
