Oklahoma May Expand State Insurance Program

Categories:  Oklahoma

A committee of the Oklahoma House is drafting a proposal to bring more businesses into a state insurance plan.

The idea is to expand Insure Oklahoma, which is a premium-support plan. If that entails giving people cash and letting them buy insurance in the private market, I suppose that's better than enrolling people in Medicaid.

For more on health care policy in the Sooner State, see the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, which takes a somewhat different take.
