The statutory authority of Department of Managed Healthcare is over managed health plans like Kaiser. Instead of doing its job of making insurance companies pay the medical bills for emergency medical services provided to their members who have dearly paid premiums, this government agency has chosen to waste tax-payers dollars and further compromise safety net of emergency medical services by litigating a health care provider over a matter this it clearly knows is not illegal. This is acme of inefficiency and government bureaucracy.
