Not to mention the fact that if the state wants to keep people from being uninsurable it should be encouraging them to get their own policies, high deductible with health savings accounts preferred, as soon as they can, like when they turn 18. The longer they stay on their parents' policies, the higher the (still very low) probability they'll become too ill to get a low priced one on their own.

Yet another example of the danger one is in when the government decides to help.
